Construction was contracted to spearhead the excavation and installation
of about 68 miles of pipe, which originated in Sayreville, New Jersey
and terminated in Hicksville, Long Island. The purpose of this massive
undertaking was to run conduit and DC electric lines underground so that
Long Island can benefit from additional electricity gleaned from the
South Atlantic Grid in New Jersey.
The Bronx Metering And Regulating Station
The
Bronx Metering and Regulating station is the termination of a 37 mile
pipeline that begins in Northport, NY and runs in the Long Island Sound
until it makes landfall again in the Hunts Point Area of the Bronx.
Williams Gas Pipeline - TRANSCO - Meter Station, Long Beach, New York
Hallen
furnished all labor, material and equipment to remove existing gas regulators
and piping. The scope included the replacement of existing meter tube,
the removal of existing scrubbers and the replacement with one (1) new
scrubber, the removal of an underground condensate tank and its replacement,
and the removal of the existing drip blow off tank and other yard piping.
National Grid - Southampton Electric Cable
Hallen
provided labor, material and equipment to install 69kV transmission line
from Southampton to Bridgehampton substations. The scope of work included
trench excavation, backfill and sheeting as required. The receiving,
unloading and setting P.C. concrete manholes. Fusing and installation
HDPE and concrete pipe. Cable pulling and splicing. Asphalt, concrete
and lawn restoration.
National Grid 12" Steel High Pressure Gas Transmission Main Mattituck/Cutchogue
Hallen furnished labor, material and equipment to install 11,000 FT of 12" steel gas transmission main piping. Activities included trench excavation, backfill, sheeting and shoring. In addition, work included tie-ins, valve and fitting installation, pressure tests, permanent asphalt and landscape restoration, the boring and jack casing of pipe across NYSDOT road and LIRR tracks.
National Grid Greenpoint Facility Remediation
Activities
included the furnishing of labor, material and equipment to provide soil
erosion and sediment control measures, hot spot excavation of existing
soils, load, haul and dispose of contaminated soils, import clean fill,
backfill and compact excavated areas and full site restoration.
Buckeye Pipe Line Emergency Response Work
Hallen
provides qualified labor, material and equipment on an as need basis
for excavation, backfill, and pipeline repairs as requested and directed
by Buckeye Pipe Line.
Vacuum Excavation Work
Hallen
furnishes labor, material and equipment to externally seal various size
cast iron pipe joints on low and medium pressure gas mains using vacuum
excavating equipment (known as Keyhole excavation) at various locations
in the city of New York, Long Island and Westchester county.
SUNY Downstate Steam Work
Involved
the emergency excavation and replacement of underground 10" steam and 6" condensate return
lines belowLenox Road and East 34th street in Brooklyn, New York.
